Woburn Safari Park (www.woburnsafari.co.uk) is approximately 10 miles from The Stable Yard located on the edge of a beautiful market town offering a great range of restaurants and bistros together with shops, antique and craft fairs during the year. The house at Woburn and the Safari Park are again national attractions and offer something for everyone.
The Marston Vale Millennium Country Park covers 225 hectares and is a fabulous mix of woodland, grassland, meadow, lakes and wetland habitats criss-crossed by 17 kilometres of traffic free, surfaced cycle paths, grass footpaths and bridle ways. There’s a fantastic surfaced path that takes walkers through the beautiful Wetlands Nature Reserve - the jewel at the heart of the Country Park click here for Map. Cyclists - Enjoy the ‘figure of eight’ surfaced track which is fully signposted; two 4 km loops that start and finish at the Forest Centre with maps situated at every entry point into the Park. There is a range of adult’s and children’s bikes available for hire, including children’s seats and child buggies click here for more information. National Cycle Network Route 51, runs through the Park. This is a linear route that connects Oxford and Cambridge and in Bedfordshire, Milton Keynes and Sandy via Bedford, following rights of way and quiet roads. More information
Horse Riding - Horse owners can enjoy 4km of grass bridle paths and there’s plenty of room for horse boxes in the Centre’s large car park.
Walking - There are surfaced paths, numerous grass footpaths and bridleways totalling 17km of varying combinations around the Millennium Park. There’s a signpost and map at every entry point. Xscape Milton Keynes (www.xscape.co.uk) is 10 miles from The Stable Yard and offers a multitude of activities from bowling, the world famous Snozone and a casino. There are also plenty of places to shop, eat and drink late into the night.
