Finding us
Our 'Stable Yard' sign has been removed by the Highways department. We are not allowed to erect any signage directing guests to the farm from the main road (until we have received the correct planning consent). From the M1, take the left turn on the 'Little Chef' roundabout at Marston Moretaine and follow the signs for Wootton. After the village of Upper Shelton you will enter Wootton Green. Wood farm is the only left hand turn off this main road. It will be sign posted Wootton Green Farm and Wood Farm. From there follow the signs for The Stable Yard.
From Wootton, follow signs for Cranfield. After leaving Wootton you will enter Wootton Green. We are only turning on right hand side after the bends.
Our 'Sorry - No pets' policy explained
We get many requests from prospective guests to see whether their pets are welcome here at The Stable Yard. We're very sorry, but we don't allow any pets. We are a working farm, with farm dogs of our own but most importantly we do like to be able to cater for guests who may have allergies. Any pet owner knows that once pet hair is in a room, it's very difficult to completely eradicate!
Change to single night stay charge
Please note that from October 1st 2009, our single night charge will rise to £60 (inclusive of VAT). All other charges remain as for this year.
Road improvements & closures on the A421
The A421 between Bedford and Junction 13 of the M1 is undergoing huge redevelopment and will take the next 2 years to complete. If you are using SatNav to reach The Stable Yard, it will try to bring you down 'Hoo Lane' in Wootton Green. This road has now been permanently closed. To get to Wotton Green from the A421, take either the Cranfield turn off at The 'Little Chef' roundabout in Marston Moretaine, then follw signs for Upper Shelton and Wootton Green or take the Wootton turn off, then turn left in Wootton, following signs for Cranfield and Shelton.
Comments from our guests...
We had a lovely stay - short though it was - and I certainly have been raving about the place! The dogs were a real bonus too! Everyone was really friendly and the place is so clean and beautifully decorated. I have even ordered a new mattress - the same as yours - based on my terrific nights sleep!!!! We loved our stay at the Stable Yard. We had the freedom to come and go as we pleased, cook in or eat out at the local pubs. Very peaceful at night and refreshing walks across the farm during the afternoon. Very friendly owners live nearby and were available if we needed anything. Huge dog pretending to be a guard horse with a loud bark but really a big softie, especially if you have a treat on hand. We recommend this self care accommodation. Dear Gabi, Just to say we had a great weekend break and your apartments are truly perfect with everything we could need there, the surroundings were gorgeous and are very pleased with our choice, we hope to be using you again in the near future. Rebecca Black - May 2009
Beautiful setting, great accomodation! A relaxing place to stay after a busy day - as a female working away from home this is a perfect spot to feel comfortable without worrying about sitting alone in a hotel bar or dining room. I will definitely be making the most of every opportunity to return - Gabi thank you so much for makng me so welcome. Lorraine Wilsher - April 2009
